Just kidding, I like it here. But some things can be annoying sometimes, like everywhere.
If you’re immigrant from Europe, you will probably have it harder.
You probably won’t be able to get neither money support from the government nor some other social security. Okay, we have it easier when it comes to papers and residence law. But if a person from Asia and person from Europe go to the government, European won’t be significant. Well, it’s the truth that Norway is super close to Europe, so it’s just a matter of your choice if you come here or not. You don’t run away from war or hunger.
Sweden has cheaper food.
I’m one of those people living one hour from the border with Sweden and of course, I drive there each month for shopping. If those countries are so similar, they should have the same prices (so all the folks from Østlandet aren’t destroying Norwegian economics).
“You’re not Norwegian? We won’t like you”.
It’s only a small percentage of people that hate immigrants, but you can find them even in the smallest of cities. You can try to pronounce everything how it’s supposed to be in Norwegian, but there still be the weird look. Personally, I’d be proud if someone would try to learn Polish.
Just remember all of those above are just based on my own experiences and observations, so don’t take it as the perfect representation of cons of Norway.
Thank you for reading and see you next week!
