Short days, harsh rains and wind, the wind that blows without break, just breaking branches alongside its way.
Or the sun that you see only once or twice per week if you’re lucky and you’ve woken up early enough. Sunset? Hard to see, especially when the sun goes down exactly at 5:34 pm, so if you work in a restaurant on weekends, you basically spend most of the shift feeling like on a night shift.
By working on weekends I also have to spend my weekdays most of the time alone, sharing only afternoons with my boyfriend, because he works like anyone else, from Monday to Friday. But for me, work starts at 2 pm on that Friday and I’m still grateful I have somewhere to earn money. When you walk around here or drive around, you don’t see many possibilities waiting for young people to catch them (besides fish. Fishing is very popular here).
When you go out in October all you can feel is winter just waiting around the corner. To be honest I’m quite excited for winter because it means no more gray and rainy days. When I used to live in Hamar during this season, days were sometimes more sunny than in summer.
Those days aren’t easy because they are painfully monotonous. But you can’t change much, you just have to wait for better times. One day they will come.
Thank you so much for reading and hope you all are having a great weekend. See you soon!
